Retained Executive Search for a new Chief Executive

A different type of search for every situation, whatever the job position

Chief Executive

Our client is a very successful IFA with 2 offices based in Surrey and links (through Co - Ownership) with a 6-partner practice of Chartered Accountants. Over the past 10 years the business had increased in turnover to £1.5m and projected further revenue growth in the current financial year.

However, the owner and his wife were seeking to step back from their day to day executive duties. They asked Paul Harper Search & Selection to identify and supply an individual to act as Chief Executive Officer, taking over the day to day running of the business, leaving the owner to spend 3 days a week as a consultant on client work, whilst his wife retired fully from the business.

To find a suitable Chief Executive we advised a retained executive search backed up by a limited element of unbranded advertising to sweep up ‘out of area’ candidates.

The likely target market was regional directors of national IFAs or Professional Practice IFAs.

Skills required – business development management, hands on IFA experience.

We undertook a full executive search of the IFA market within a sizeable geographical area identifying and approaching likely candidates. We also ran a sweep up advertisement to seek ‘out of area’ candidates seeking a move.

The role was successfully filled within a 3 month period.
