Wrap & Platform Skills in High Demand
Premium value is being placed on Wrap and Platform sales skills. Also, there seems to be an increasing demand for specialists to support the sales force, eg. Investment, Offshore, Tax and Trust specialists, Pension specialists are all in demand as IFAs increasingly rely on technical expertise from the product providers. IFA relationships still sought after - but little sign of salary uplift Finally a good intermediary sales professional with strong relationships at adviser level will never be out of work for long. Indeed, individuals with strong IFA relationships are the nearest thing to a one way bet, so they will find themselves in high demand. Unfortunately, there is little sign of high demand driving up salaries at this stage. When we last surveyed salaries we found Life Office and Investment House Account Managers were still seeing erosion of total earnings while basic salaries were rising slowly. However, since the dawn of the recession we have seen salary packages generally becoming less flexible.
