The Search Process Once Paul Harper Search has been retained by a client we begin the intensive process of identifying and then contacting suitable people for our client’s role.
Registered Candidates Once a person specification has been agreed with our client, our researchers will first look at people who have already registered with us. One of the major challenges in executive search is finding senior people willing to change jobs; people who have registered with us have normally made the decision that they wish to be considered for appropriate positions, The person specification is matched against our candidates and potentials are highlighted. Now the wider search begins. The Wider Market Our team of highly trained and experienced researchers now begin to use their knowledge of the financial services sector to identify staff who may meet the criteria set by our client and to create a long list of candidates to be approached for the role. Most will be working for a competitor in a rolewhich involves the skills you are seeking. While there is no set length, a long list may consist of 40 - 100 possible targets. Once a group has been identified we then begin the process of approaching people on the long list who are potentially interested in the challenges of a new role with the still undisclosed client. Short List The will be presented with a short list of candidates who meet their criteria and are genuinely interested in the available opportunity. Our involvement does not end there, we will work with you and the client to select the best candidate and manage the negotiation and resignation process. Interviews Once our researchers have identified people who appear suitable and who may be interested, in at least discussing a new role, they will be contacted by our Search Consultants. The group will initially be contacted by phone; further selection will see those remaining candidates being visited by our consultants and interviewed face-to-face. Assessment The final group of possibly only 6-8 people may undergo further assessment by our consultants or in conjunction with our client. The final group passed to the client may only be 3-4 people, but all will be the best possible recruits from their sector and will ably fill the client’s requirements.
